Well, here we are.

I am surrounded by boxes and piles of the stuff that accumulates when I am given a personal office. I just finished the programming for this website. I wanted to play with the PHP language and XML a little, so I built all this from scratch. There are sure to be a few bugs still hiding in there somewhere.

I am moving to Los Angeles, CA from Boston, MA to begin a Ph.D. program at UCLA that will involve some combination of biological research and the new field of bioinformatics (computer science applied to large, complex problems in biotechnology). What better excuse for a long vacation!

The mover's are coming in six days. On May 22, 2003, Jen, Tabitha (the black fuzzy one on the right), and I embark on a 12 day roadtrip to get to our new home. We plan to visit a few folks along the way, see as much scenery and quirky Americana as possible, and get to southern California by the incongruous route of Oregon.

We hope to update once a night from our hotel room.
